Updating content
You might sometimes need to edit pages after you have added them. There can be many reasons for this - the information may have changed, you might want to add extra information, or you might simply have spotted a typo you want to correct.
Editing a page
To alter a page which already exists, you need to find the page (using Find shows, Find venues or Find drama societies). When you reach the page, use the Edit tab on the page to edit the content. Remember to save your changes (if you navigate away from the edit page your changes will be lost).
Please don't try to use Create content to change a page. It won't work - you will just create a second page with the same title. The original page will still be there, you will be listed twice.
Deleting a page
You don't need to delete events pages when the event has finished, it will automatically be removed from the current listings. Perhaps in the future we will provide a feature to look back at past productions.
If you do want to delete a page, eg if you have accidentally created a duplicate, please email us.
Who can edit a page?
Users can only edit pages if they have applied for, and been granted, editing rights. This generally means representatives of drama groups, venues etc.
On TheatreNights any editor can edit any page. This is done to simplify adminstration is specific cases. Please do not edit other people's pages even if you think you are doing them a favour by correcting a typo. TheatreNights is not a Wiki.
There are cases where collaborative or shared editing are appropriate. For example, several people from the same drama society might want to be able to update listings.
