Help for Drama Groups

If you are an amateur theatre group, small professional company or theatre venue, wishing to add free listings to TheatreNights, this page should help you get started.

You will need to apply for a special account to add listings, but it isn't a difficult process (and it is free). We manually verify accounts to discourage spammers.

When you have logged on to your new account, you can add your details. This section tells you how to create pages, but check here if you need to update existing pages.

Society details

TheatreNights has three main types of page - Society, Venue and Event. Society pages list the details of individual drama groups or production companies.

You will only need one Society page (unless you look after more than one group). It should be the first page you create:

1) In the Admin menu on the left of the page, click Create content.
2) Select Society.
3) Fill out the form with your group description and details.

Please bear in mind that everything on this form will be publicly visible on the TheatreNights site. Most items are optional, so if you do not wish to add your full name, phone number or email address it is up to you.

You can go back and edit this page whenever you want. Locate the page (using search) and use the edit tab at the top of the page. You need to be logged in for this to work.

The URL for your society page (and all other pages you create) is permanent - you can link to it from other web pages.

Venue details

Venue pages list the details of places where you perform, including the address and how to find it.

You need to create a venue page before you can create and event page. Before creating a new venue page please check (using search) to see if the venue is already listed.

1) In the Admin menu on the left of the page, click Create content.
2) Select Venue.
3) Fill out the form with the venue description and details.

Event details

Event pages list the details of a single production, including the performance dates and times, and booking details.

If your production is touring, you should create a separate event page for each venue.

1) In the Admin menu on the left of the page, click Create content.
2) Select Event.
3) Fill out the form with the event description and details.
